This news is coming down awfully late, but it was poignant enough we felt it was worth sharing.

One of the most infuriating moments of the season for Winnipeg Jets fans was watching referee Francois St Laurent openly laughing on the ice after he ejected a furious Paul Marice, who was understandably upset after some brutal non-calls from the National Hockey League officials overseeing that game.

That anger becomes even more understandable after it was revealed just how serious one of those non-calls was, when Winnipeg Jet Bryan Little suffered a broken back as a result of an absolutely vicious hit that went ignored.

Now TSN hockey insider Darren Dreger has revealed insult was added to injury, and Paul Maurice was fined $5,000 as a result of his tirade against St Laurent who sat there with his smug smile.
