Insider reveals troubling locker room conduct from Brady Tkachuk.

It has been an exciting time the last few weeks in the National Hockey League with trades flying left and right, but in a few of those cases those trades have left behind some clear resentment as well.

That definitely seems to be the case regarding now former Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk, with reports now coming out suggesting that Tkachuk may not have been a very positive influence in the Senators locker room... and that may be putting in mildly.

During a recent episode of Sens 1 on 1, long time Senators reporter Bruce Garrioch made some surprising comments regarding Tkachuk's conduct over the last several years.

"For the last 4 years he has told his teammates in that dressing room that he has no intention of re-signing here," revealed the Senators insider on his podcast. "That he was not going to be here after this contract expired."

4 years is a long period of time to be expressing this kind of dissent in an NHL locker room and especially when those comments are coming from the man who is ostensibly meant to be the leader of that locker room. Who knows what kind of impact that would have had on Tkachuk's teammates and their own perception of the team, certainly not a great look for the Ottawa Senators organization or for Brady Tkachuk.

While many have been quick to point to the pressures that come from the media in a Canadian hockey market, the fact that this was kept under wraps for 4 years does run counter to that narrative.
