New details regarding William Nylander's next contract have begun to leak on Monday morning.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are apparently having a tough time keeping a lid on their negotiations with star forward William Nylander with leaks regarding those negotiations pouring out over the weekend.
On Sunday night, Swedish media outlets began to report that the Maple Leafs and Nylander had come to terms on a new 8 year deal that would carry an average annual value and salary cap hit of $11.5 million per season. Now we have more details beginning to leak out courtesy of NHL insiders on this side of the Atlantic ocean.
On Monday morning, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman echoed the reports regarding the term and dollars on this deal while also adding some additional details regarding the clauses in Nylander's contract. According to the NHL's top insider, Nylander's new deal will also come with a full no movement clause over all 8 years of this contract, something that will make the player impossible to move unless he so desires over the full length of the deal.
We still await the official announcement from the Maple Leafs.
