It sounds like the Boston Bruins may be forced to trade arguably their best player in forward Loui Eriksson.
Acorrding to a recent report from TSN hockey insider Darren Dreger the two sides, Eriksson and the Bruins, are still very far apart in negotiations, and to make matters worse there are multiple issues of contention between the two parties.
It had previously been reported that the two sides were a ways apart when it came to term on a potential new deal, however Dreger has reported today that the money is also an issue.
"Ongoing contract discussions between Loui Eriksson and the Bruins. It's believed a significant gap remains in both term and money," said Dreger.
There have been some mild rumors that Eriksson could be traded at the deadline, but most pundits seemed to lean towards the likelyhood of a deal getting done between the two sides, now however we are less than a week away from the deadline and it sounds like they aren't even close.
