We have a trade in the National Hockey League on Sunday morning.

According to a report from The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta, the New Jersey Devils and New York Islanders have struck a deal on a 1 for 1 deal involving a pair of forwards.

In this deal the Islanders have acquired 24 year old right winger Tyce Thompson, former 4th round pick (96th overall) of the Devils at the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Thompson has played just 11 NHL games with the Devils and has spent most of his pro career since being drafted as a member of the American Hockey League's Utica Comets.

The Devils on the other hand will receive left winger Arnaud Durandeau, a former 6th round pick (165th overall) of the Islanders at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Like Thompson, Durandeau has limited NHL experience with just 4 career games under his belt, and has spent the majority of his pro career since being drafted with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Bridgeport Islanders of the AHL.

Neither player is likely to have a big impact on either team on the NHL level, and will instead likely be spending most of their time in the AHL.
