Islanders officially release plain new jersey

The New York Islanders are bringing their traditional blue & orange jerseys to Brooklyn next season, but they will pay hommage to their new arenamates, the Brooklyn Nets, with their third jersey.

Out is the blue, out is the orange (almost), hello black & white. The Islander will wear the simplistic and dark jersey on 12 occasions this season. This isn't the first time the Isles will wear a black third jersey, but it is the first time it will be totally devoid of blue. Saying it is without orange would be a little lie though, as the teams trademark four orange line on the stick of the "NY" are still present.

I guess you can also make a statement saying there is blue, as the shoulder patches and interior of the collar will feature the team's traditional colour.
