Islanders unveil 8 new jerseys... but only 1 will stay.

The New York Islanders have issued a challenge to their fans and they have responded in truly incredible fashion.

On Tuesday, the Islanders took to social media to announce that they had narrowed down the finalists for their fan-designed jersey contest to just 8 designs. It is a truly staggering feat to limit the choices to just 8 when the Islanders report that they received over 80,000 different unique designs from their passionate fan base.

The Islanders are now taking those 8 finalists and once again reaching out to fans for their assistance, asking fans to vote on the best looking jersey in a tournament-style showdown to determine the eventual winner. This contest isn't just for fun either, with the Islanders actually incorporating the winning design into what will be their new third jersey.
