Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo is hopeful that he'll be able to play again, maybe even this season but he's not looking that far in the future. The two-time Stanley Cup champion (2019 St Louis Blue and 2023 Vegas Golden Knights) told reporters today that he's taking his recovery on a day to day basis and that his only focus right now is on being a Dad and supporting his family.

Pietrangelo has so far put off doing a risky hip surgery and is focused on rehab.

"I'm continuing to rehab. I'm going to continue to do that. First and foremost, being able to be a Dad and to be able to do the things that I want to do as a Dad is very important to me. And, we have a phenomenal team here.

The 35 year old played 71 games for the Golden Knights last season, putting up a stellar 4 goals and 33 points. He's in year six of a seven year contract that pays him $8.8 million per season.
