An emotional update from the veteran defenseman today.
It might be a wrap for Ottawa Senators defenseman Nick Jensen.
Sens insider Claire Hanna caught up with Jensen in Ottawa yesterday and caught some pretty raw, emotional moments.
Jensen, of course, underwent hip resurfacing surgery this past offseason and is just now getting close to returning to action. The problem though, is that Jensen isn't so sure he'll be able to finish the season, forget next season.
From Jensen himself:
"I’m fortunate with how my career ended up at this point. It’s been a fun ride, I’ve had no regrets even if this was my last year. I’m not content but I’m happy with how things turned out for right now. Now it’s a day by day assessment, coming to the rink every day and pushing yourself."
"Leading that into the next day, I’m not looking a couple days out, a week out, a month out, or I’m not looking at the end of the year if this is my last year or not. I’m just going ot keep pushing as hard as I can and I’ll know when it is my final time here when it comes."
The 35 year old Jensen played 71 games with the Senators last season after being acquired from the Washington Capitals in the Jakob Chychrun trade.
