The Boston Bruins have officially removed defenseman Charlie McAvoy from injured reserve, less than one month since he suffered a broken jaw from a slap shot to the face.
McAvoy practiced with the team this morning and is considered a game time decision for tonight's game against the Winnipeg Jets.
McAvoy was forced to undergo surgery to wire his jaw shut and lost over 20 pounds as a result of his injury. For him to be back in the lineup less than a month later is pretty remarkable. Standby for official confirmation of McAvoy's status for this evening's game.
