Goalie left hanging his head after facing Ivan Demidov at the MYM Shodown.
Ivan Demidov it would seem absolutely loves playing hockey in the City of Montreal.
There was a ton of excitement surrounding the Russian prospect as he entered the National Hockey League for the first time during the 2024-25 NHL regular season, and after only a little taste fans of the Montreal Canadiens are already dying to see more. Demidov only appeared in 2 games during the regular season but had a goal and an assist for 2 points, a very solid start to an NHL career for a 19 year old.
Fans in the City of Montreal didn't have to wait until next season either as Demidov was back on the ice showing off his skills during a recent event in the Montreal area, the Mayke Your Move Showdown or MYM Showdown for short.
At the event, which was held just this Saturday over the weekend, Demidov would create one of the highlights of the show when he absolutely undressed a completely overmatched goaltender with an absolutely filthy move in front of the net.
Demidov, who was participating in a breakaway challenge at the time, used a combination of some one-handed stick handling as well as a series of jukes to freeze the goaltender in his crease before putting the puck behind him.
You can see the replay of the moment just below:
While the goaltender in question probably wasn't thrilled at the prospect of getting beat with such a flashy move, I think it will be a fairly easy pill for him to swallow when you consider the fact that the man pulling off that move is one of the most exciting young prospects in the NHL today.
