The Toronto Maple Leafs are having a bad time in Game 4 of their opening round Stanley Cup playoff series against the Tampa Bay Lightning, but it seems likely that no one is having a worse night than Maple Leafs goaltender Jack Campbell.

Campbell had a tough outing allowing 3 goals on the first 5 shots of the game, and allowing 5 goals in total before head coach Sheldon Keefe finally stepped in and mercifully put an end to Campbell's night. Campbell wouldn't even make it to the end of the second period with Keefe pulling the trigger on the move after a number of bad penalties from the Leafs, penalties that would eventually lead to the Lightning's 5th goal of the night.

Early on you could have argued that Campbell was the victim of a little bit of bad luck, and he very well may have been, but the 4th goal in particular from Ross Colton appeared to show that Campbell was off his game.

The first goal for the Lightning came just one minute into the game and was scored by Steven Stamkos, with Nikita Kucherov and Victor Hedman getting the helpers.  It's worth noting that this one came off of a Leafs turnover in their own zone.

The second goal of the game was a bit of a weird one, with the puck taking a weird bounce off the boards which would lead to Jack Campbell putting the puck right on the stick of Pierre Edouard Bellemare who would make no mistake, giving the Lightning a very early 2 goal lead.

The third goal of the game came off of a Pat Maroon breakaway, with Maroon picking up the Lightning's third goal of the game with less than 8 minutes played in the period.

Here's the goal from Ross Colton that I mentioned, I was somewhat surprised Keefe did not make the decision to pull Campbell out of the net after this one.

Corey Perry would score the 5th and final goal of the night against Campbell, picking up a power play goal after Ondrej Kase earned a double minor for high sticking.

That marks the end of a brutal night for Campbell who allowed 5 goals on just 16 shots for a .688 save percentage, and given the way he faltered for the Leafs midway through the regular season there are questions to be asked about how this may impact his confidence moving forward in this series and in the playoffs.

Keefe may be acutely aware of this as he had a lengthy exchange with Campbell on the sidelines after taking him out of the game tonight.
