Buffalo Sabres' star forward Jack Eichel had an amazing rookie season last year, notching 24 goals and 32 assists in 81 games. The 20 years-old centerman was expected to be an offensive dynamo for the Sabres this season alongside their newest acquisition Kyle Okposo. Unfortunately, Eichel injured his ankle in a pre-season practice and was expected to come back just before Christmas' break.
The American born player skated for the second straight day this morning. Despite major improvement, Dan Bylsma said Eichel wasn't gonna be a part of the roadtrip to Washington but will stay in Buffalo to practice.
While being second-to-last, the Sabres are still only 4 points shy of a playoff spot. The sooner Eichel gets back, the better are their chances!
