He stormed off like a baby... lol
Listen, first and foremost I'll just come out and say that I'm a Canadian hockey fan.
I say that because whenever I write anything somewhat critical about Jack Hughes, all I get is American fans trying to dunk on me for Hughes' golden goal in the 2026 Olympics.
So... with that out of the way: What a lil' baby Hughes can be, eh?
The guy with an injury history longer than the Dead Sea Scrolls seemed to take offense at a mild joke from an ESPN reporter midway through tonight's game between his New Jersey Devils and the Philadelphia Flyers. When wrapping up the interview the reporter quipped, "It's good to see you healthy, let's wrap you in bubble wrap and get you to use plastic cutlery this year, that sound good?", an obvious reference to Hughes' cooking mishap when he sliced his hand open with a knife last season.
So... how did Hughes react?
He said, "That's a weird joke," and stormed off like a kid taking his ball and going home.
Again, maybe I'm just a Canadian jerk, but this guy comes off as such a whiny baby to me. Just take the ribbing and be polite about it, tough guy. It's not like your injury history is a mystery or anything.
