Jacob Trouba lays another big hit, absolutely bundles Nathan MacKinnon

Looks like his devastating hit on Khaira last night hasn't changed his game.

Less than 24 hours after absolutely decimating Chicago Blackhawks forward Jujhar Khaira with a devastating hit, New York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba is back at it.

In case you missed it last night, Trouba stepped up at the offensive blue line and absolutely walloped Khaira who had his head down and was fishing for a puck in his skates. Khaira was knocked unconscious on the ice and was taken to hospital via ambulance immediately.

Here's the hit in question:

The Blackhawks announced earlier today that Khaira has been released from hospital and will make a full recovery.

"Despite the significant injury, his prognosis is excellent, and we expect a full recovery. At this point, it is too early to put a timeline on return to play.”

- Chicago Blackhawks

As for Trouba, because the hit was deemed legal he will not be facing supplemental discipline from the NHL or the NHLPA. Personally, I hope nothing but the best for Khaira and I full expect Blackhawks fans to bury me for this but I don't feel that this hit is worthy of a suspension or a fine regardless of what NHL Player Safety says. This is simply a case of a defenseman stepping up to make a hit, it just so happens to be an absolutely devastating hit with unfortunate consequences.

And if you thought this hit would make Trouba re-think his own game, think again.

Check out Trouba absolutely bundling Colorado Avalanche superstar Nathan MacKinnon in the second period of tonight's contest between the two teams:

Boom. Another night, another victim for Trouba.
