Here's your lesson for today: Don't talk shit about Jaromir Jagr.

If you do, he'll find you and make you look like a fool. And trust me, this guy made an entire career out of making people look foolish so he'll rip through you like wet tissue paper.

Case in point: When Sportsnet posted an image of former NHL superstars like Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Mike Bossy, Bobby Orr, Pavel Bure, and Sergei Fedorov and asked, "Which of these former players would you like to see in the current day NHL" a hockey fan with the username tsivak22 replied, "Bro i'm sorry but 50% of these guys wouldn't put up 60 points in today's NHL."

First off, what are you talking about? Gretzky, Lemieux and Orr would dominate in ANY era. Secondly, well... let's let Jags take it over.

Jagr's reply: "What? I did it 66 point at age 44, 6 years ago. And same players on this list are better than me. Mario or Wayne would be unstoppable."

Check it out:

You tell 'em, Jags! These young punks don't have any clue what they're talking about.

If anything guys like Gretzky and Lemieux might even be more impressive in 2022 given just how much obstruction has been removed from the game. Go back and watch any highlight reels and you'll see Lemieux having to work through half a dozen hooks and holds just to get to the net. Or, imagine Bure with the wide open ice afforded to players in today's game. You know those highlight reels we see from McDavid where he goes end to end? Bure would put up one of those per game... easily. In fact, he did it in the 90s and early 2000s when hooking and holding was at its absolute worst.

I mean... just check out this goal:

You're telling me that a guy with that speed, that skill and that determination wouldn't put up 60 points in today's NHL? Gimme a break...

The fact of the matter is that sure, things have changed in the NHL and today's athletes are more finely tuned than at any point in history, but skill and sheer determination ensures that these superstars will always be considered amongst the greatest of all time regardless of which era they played in. Shoutout to Jagr for educating these fools.
