Jagr wants fans to be warned ahead of time.

A lot of fans will be tuning in to watch National Hockey League legend Jaromir Jagr hit the ice for the first time as a member of the Calgary Flames this evening, but Jagr wants to temper expectations.

Flames beat reporter Kristen Odland of Postmedia asked Jagr, who missed all of training camp and the preseason due to not having a contract, about the current state of his game, and Jagr was very self-deprecating.

"It’s not going to be very good," said Jagr. "But hopefully, (after playing) some games, it’ll be better.”

While part of his response is likely Jagr simply being modest, it also likely has some truth to it given the fact that Jagr will be playing against much younger men who have a head start on him.

That being said we doubt that will impact the number of fans tuning in to see him take on the Los Angeles Kings tonight.
