Jake Walman has a message for Red Wings fans

The Detroit Red Wings announced today that they've locked up defenseman Jake Walman to a three year contract extension. 

This is certainly a welcome transaction for the Red Wings, considering how good that Walman has performed this year, especially after being paired with Moritz Seider. 

And shortly after the deal was signed, Walman expressed his gratitude while also giving a shoutout to the fans.

"I've always said I like to play where I'm wanted and I feel wanted here in Detroit," he explained. "Not just by the coaches and teammates, but by the city of Detroit. It's been great. I think our fans are unreal and I'm really excited to play and put on for this city."
