After taking a commanding 3-1 lead in the second period the Canucks would allow the Detroit Red Wings to claw all the way back into the game in regulation, opening the door for veteran defenseman Jake Walman to steal the show.
Walman was awarded a penalty shot during the overtime frame and not only would he beat Canucks goaltender Casey DeSmith in the one on one battle, but Walman would also hit the Canucks and Little Caesars Arena with a truly incredible post goal celebration.
Walman's celly, popularly referred to as the "Griddy", has been used by various professional athletes over the years but is credited to high school footballer Allen Davis.
Whatever you want to call it there's no doubt that it looked great and got a huge reaction from the hometown crowd, and there's little doubt in my mind that it will be a moment that the Canucks' wont soon forget.
