Jamie Benn re-signs with the Dallas Stars

This just in, Jamie Benn has signed a one year contract extension with the Dallas Stars, worth a reported $4 million total.

NHL insider Pierre LeBrun reports that Benn's new contract will carry a $1 million annual salary and up to $3 million in performance bonuses.

The 35 year old is coming off a massive eight year deal that paid him $9.5 million per season. While he may not have the offensive output that he once had earlier in his career, he's still a valuable player in the Stars' locker room.
