Jamie Benn to face music from NHL Department of Player Safety
The Stars may be without their captain for a potential season-ending Game 4.

The Dallas Stars were without captain Jamie Benn for the majority of last night's postseason game against the visiting Vegas Golden Knights at American Airlines Center, as he was issued a five minute major and game misconduct for his selfish decision to cross check Vegas captain Mark Stone while he was on the ice in a vulnerable position.
The Golden Knights would immediately make the Stars pay for the actions of Benn, scoring twice on the major penalty en route to a 4-0 victory and a three games to none stranglehold on the series. They can punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Final with a victory in Game 4 on Thursday night.
Whether or not Benn is a participant in Thursday's must-win Game 4 for Dallas remains to be seen. Earlier this morning, it was announced by the NHL Department of Player Safety that Benn would be having a hearing due to the cross check that resulted in his being tossed from the game:
Benn has three goals and 11 points in 16 postseason games so far.
