KHL team Jokerit has officially withdrawn from the KHL's Gagarin Cup Playoffs in protest of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Presumably, to ensure the safety of its players as well.

The Helsinki based Jokerit (Finnish for Jokers) is owned by Hockey Hall of Famer Jari Kurri and has been part of the KHL since the 2014-15 season.

Prior to today's announcement though there had been speculation that Jokerit might return to the SM-Liiga, the top league in Finland.
