Jason Pominville leads beer league after just 18 games!
This is unbelievable : the Sabres should get him back!
HockeyFeed
Jason Pominville hasn’t retired from professional hockey despite not getting a contract for the 2019-20 season. He remains in game shape as he plays hockey once a week at the Northtown Center in Amherst.
And he rules the league: the 37-year-old forward leads the beer circuit as he has managed to put up 97 points in just 18 games.
You can understand why some Buffalo Sabres fans would love to have him back on the roster.
The Sabres lack forward depth and secondary scoring. But instead of signing Pominville, general manager Jason Botterill traded for winger Michael Frolik earlier this year.
Pominville ranks eighth in franchise history in games (733), 10th in goals (217), eighth in assists (304) and eighth in points (521). He played his 1,000th NHL game last season.
And he could be making history in his beer league as well!
