This just in, Los Angeles Kings center Jeff Carter has undergone core muscle surgery and is expected to be in recovery and rehabilitation for months.

Check it out:

The Kings' season is over so there's no risk of Carter missing any game time, as the team says he'll be ready for the 2020-21 season... whenever that is.

The 35 year old Carter put up just 17 goals and 27 points in 60 games for the Kings this season, a sharp declined from the 60+ points he put up regularly doing the Kings' heyday. Hopefully this surgery and the extended rest period that Carter is afforded helps get him back to his old self.

LA Kings forward Jeff Carter underwent successful surgery on Thursday, June 4 to repair a core muscle injury.
He sustained the injury during a game on February 18 at Winnipeg and missed the final 10 games (Feb. 20 through Mar. 11). Carter will begin his rehabilitation process and is expected to be fully recovered for next season.
