Having been a veteran of over a decade and a half of National Hockey League games, Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jeff Carter should know as well as anyone the dangers of catching an unsuspecting opponent with a blind side hit to the head.
Unfortunately, that thought escaped him tonight. During his team’s game against the visiting defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche at PPG Paints Arena, Carter caught Norris Trophy winning defenseman Cale Makar with a nasty blindside hit to the head:
Carter was not penalized, while Makar entered concussion protocol.
Isn’t this the kind of hit that the League is trying to get rid of?
