Even though he scored last night, he’s not the same on the ice

The Senators scored four goals in the 1st, with three coming in a span of 2:18, to defeat the Penguins in Game 3, 5-1, for a 2-1 series lead. Only Sidney Crosby found the back of the net in a game where the Penguins seemed to show a lack of energy and passion on the ice.

One thing is quite easily noticeable for those who watch the games, Sidney Crosby is clearly not playing like Sidney Crosby.

On NBC, famous former NHLer Jeremy Roenick and Mike Millbury (yes the guy who called out P.K. Subban a clown) wonder if number 87 is simply getting worn out. Is he 100 percent, whether it be a matter of injuries, fatigue or some combination?

His game struggled,” said Roenick.

I’m wondering how much energy he has left. He bails out on the puck and that’s not Sidney Crosby like. You see the effort to come back and is his feet are going parallel. He was on the ice for a couple key goals. He’s not the strong Sidney Crosby I used to watch.

"Is he 100 percent healthy? NO." said Roenick pointing out a possible shoulder injury or some kind of step back from his previous concussion. Now, to be fair, it is true at this time of the year to see players carrying injuries but you gotta admit that Sidney Crosby might be playing with his health right now and that is why they (Pittsburgh Penguins) should address the situation very carefully.

That being said, the Stanley Cup Playoffs sometimes seem like a battle of attrition, and there’s no denying that the Penguins have been hit as hard by injuries as any team in the postseason. Crosby is no exception.
