Jeremy Roenick has worn many hats since hanging up his skates. The Hockey Hall of Famer has built a busy post-playing career that includes media work and multiple business ventures. But the latest opportunity to come his way had nothing to do with hockey.

According to Cronkite News, Roenick was approached by Turning Point, the conservative organization founded by Charlie Kirk, about the possibility of running for Congress in Arizona.

The former NHL star ultimately turned down the pitch. Roenick reportedly cited his packed schedule as the primary reason, explaining that he simply does not have the time given that he is currently running three businesses.

Roenick, who spent 20 seasons in the NHL with teams including the Chicago Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers, and San Jose Sharks, has remained a visible figure in the hockey world since his retirement. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and has been involved in broadcasting and various entrepreneurial pursuits.

His connection to Arizona runs deep. Roenick played for the Phoenix Coyotes during two separate stints in his career and has maintained ties to the state.

The approach from Turning Point is notable given the organization's growing influence in conservative politics. Kirk's group has become a major player in recruiting candidates and mobilizing voters, particularly in Arizona, where it is headquartered.

While athletes crossing into politics is nothing new, Roenick's decision to pass on the opportunity suggests his focus remains firmly on the business side of his post-hockey life. It is unclear whether Turning Point has identified another potential candidate for the seat.

Roenick appears content to stay in the private sector, leaving the political arena to others while he manages his growing portfolio of ventures.
