Jesse Puljujarvi gets another chance in the NHL with latest move!
With two days to go until the deadline, here’s another move, more below:
Last month, Jesse Puljujarvi’s contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins was terminated and the former first round pick then signed a professional tryout agreement with the Florida Panthers’ AHL affiliate in Charlotte.
On Wednesday, Puljujarvi got another chance in the NHL as the Panthers signed him to a two-way deal for the remainder of the season paying him a pro-rated $775,000 at the NHL level.
This season, Puljujarvi has already bounced around between the minors and the NHL. In 26 games, he has three goals and six assists with the Penguins.
With Charlotte, he managed enough to impress with three assists in seven games.
The Panthers are undoubtedly primed for a long playoff run, but they will need help if any injuries occur. Puljujarvi can be used as depth while now general manager Bill Zito can focus on final moves ahead of Friday’s trade deadline.
