Is this it for the Finnish forward?

The tenure for Jesse Puljuvarvi with the Edmonton Oilers ultimately didn't work out that either side thought it would when the team made him their 4th overall selection in the 2016 NHL Draft.

He since found a new team with the Carolina Hurricanes, being sent there in a trade in exchange for Patrik Puistola. But the unfortunate reality is that Puljuvarvi's time with the Hurricanes didn't exactly impress, either. In the 17 regular season games that he played in after his acquisition by Carolina, he failed to score once while also posting just two assists. He also only appeared in seven postseason games, registering just a single assist.

And now, it appears as though his time in the NHL may have reached a conclusion. According to a report, Puljuvarvi is planning on packing his bags and returning home to Europe.

He's scored 51 goals with 63 assists in 334 career NHL games with the Oilers and Hurricanes. If he's finished in the NHL, it will certainly go down as one of the bigger disappointments for a player who was taken in the top 5 selections of a Draft.
