This is it for the former 4th overall pick...
Jesse Puljujarvi is finally, mercifully, headed back to Europe.
The 27 year old former 4th overall pick (2016 NHL Draft) has signed a two year contract with Genève-Servette HC of the Swiss National League (NL).
Puljujarvi split last season between the AHL and the NHL, playing just five NHL games with the Florida Panthers. He was previously in the Pittsburgh Penguins' NHL/AHL system for a couple years prior with a short stint with the Carolina Hurricanes mixed in there also.
Of course, he's most known as a draft bust for the Edmonton Oilers, with whom he played seven seasons between 2016 and 2023. He left the team to play for his hometown Karpat in the Finnish Liiga for a season and a half before re-joining the team on a second chance.
Now, with Puljujarvi signing a multi-year deal in Switzerland, it appears that his NHL career is finally, mercifully over.
