A Top Gun inspired wardrobe for the Jets On Sunday.
The Winnipeg Jets are hoping to take flight on Sunday at the National Hockey League's Heritage Classic, and they've dressed the part.
As the Jets arrived on Sunday ready to play, they did so in style with the entire team decked out in a Top Gun inspired wardrobe. The outfits had the effect of making the players look very much the part of a team named the Jets while also making the players look pretty sharp as they walked through rows of onlookers who celebrated their arrival.
Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg News captured some great shots of the Jets as they walked in:
The idea for the entire thing was allegedly inspired by Jets veteran defenseman Josh Morrissey, and you have to wonder how long Morrissey's been sitting on this idea. Morrissey has been with the Jets for well over a decade now, and I'm sure he's just thrilled that he managed to convince his teammates to go with his plan.
By all accounts it was a good idea, with fans loving the look today from the Jets.
