This just in, NHL Player Safety has suspended Winnipeg Jets defenseman Neal Pionk two games for kneeing Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Rasmus Sandin in last night's game.

Check it out:

In their video explanation of the hit, NHL Player Safety maintains that, "Pionk adjusts course to attempt to make fully body contact, leading with his knee and making forceful, direct contact with his knee."

Pionk argued that he attempted to make a full body contact body check, but that NHL Player Safety did not see this hit as an unfortunate collision, but rather a dirty hit on Pionk's behalf.

As a result of his two game suspension, Pionk will surrender $58,750 in salary.
