Left winger Brandon Tanev, who missed Game 1 of the Winnipeg Jets first-round series against the St. Louis Blues with a finger/hand injury, was back on the ice and joined his teammates for the morning skate on Friday ahead of Game 2.

TSN's Sara Orlesky was first to report his return on the ice with the Jets.

The Jets are now down 1-0 in the best-of-seven series after losing to the Blues 2-1 Wednesday in their opening game of the Stanley Cup playoffs despite having the home crowd advantage.

The Blues vowed to be even better for Game 2 and will challenge the Jets and their crowd even more as they hope to head back home with a 2-0 advantage in the series.

The Jets and their fanbase are hoping that Tanev could be inserted back into the lineup and provided a much needed boost and energy to answer the Blues.

Jets head coach Paul Maurice did not want to confirm any potential changes to the lineup, though it seems like there are good chances that Tanev will return.

“The same as everybody else in a Winnipeg Jets uniform,” Maurice said when asked if there was a change in Tanev’s status. “You never know, things may change. Rotations, players, all those kind of things may change.”

Tanev tallied 14 goals and added 15 assists over 80 games this season in Winnipeg. He hasn’t played since April 2 when he sustained the injury.
