"Patrik has made a lot of contributions during his 14 years with Pittsburgh, and has proven to be a valuable asset for us," Rutherford said. "We've been impressed with his hockey knowledge and work ethic, and I look forward to working more closely with him."

From the Penguins' official press release announcement of Allvin's promotion:

In his new role, Allvin, 46, will assist Rutherford in all aspects of hockey operations. In addition to his new duties, he will continue to oversee the Penguins' amateur scouting efforts in both North America and Europe.
Before joining the Penguins, Allvin broke into the scouting ranks as a European scout for the Montreal Canadiens from 2002-06.
