John Hynes makes 6 changes to his lineup ahead of Game 3.

Down 2 - 0 the Preds are shaking things up.

The Nashville Predators have gotten off to a rough start in their first round Stanley Cup playoffs series against the Colorado Avalanche.

The Predators were blown out by the Avalanche in Game 1 of the series by a score to 5, prompting head coach John Hynes to swap out veteran goaltender David Rittich after an awful performance that saw him record a 19.91 goals against average and .615 save percentage in just 15 minutes of play. Although Ingram would allow 2 goals of his own in that game he stopped 30 of the 32 shots he faced, recording a .938 goals against average and earned his first start of the series in Game 2.

Ingram was again strong in Game 2 stopping 49 of 51 shots on his way to a .961 save percentage, good for a 2.12 goals against average and a .952 save percentage over his first 2 career playoff games in the National Hockey League, but it wouldn't be enough to earn the Predators a win, falling by a score of 2 - 1 and giving up a 2 - 0 series lead to the Avalanche in the process.

After seeing success with a change in goal it seems Hynes will make several more changes to his lineup ahead of Game 3 of this series, something that he likely hopes will light a spark in his lineup and help generate some offense from his team that has given Ingram just 3 goals of support thus far in this series.

Hynes will be adding three players to his lineup ahead of today's Game 3 with those players being forward Philip Tomasino, forward Cody Glass and defenseman Matt Benning. In a corresponding set of moves, Hynes will also be placing 3 of his current players on the sidelines with defenseman Mark Borowiecki, forward Nick Cousins and forward Michael McCarron all coming out of the lineup today.

Hynes is of course looking at every possible angle that he can to get his team back in the series, and this appears to be his answer at least as far as today's game is concerned.
