Free agent defenseman John Klingberg and the Dallas Stars might have re-engaged on discussions regarding an extension on Wednesday, a new hint came on Friday on where the blue liner might be heading out next.
Klingberg started trending on Friday not because it was announced where he had signed but because he started following members of the Calgary Flames on social media.
The Flames lost big on Wednesday when Johnny Gaudreau left and signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets. GM Brad Treliving needs to convince Matthew Tkachuk amongst others to stay in Calgary and brining in a top defenseman like Klingberg would definitely help.
The native of Gothenburg, Sweden remains unsigned. In 74 games last season, he had six goals and 47 points in 74 regular-season games.
