John Scott's participation to the All-Star game is uncertain.

He is not even playing in the NHL.

After TSN's Bob Mackenzie, it was ESPN's Pierre Lebrun's turn to argue that the trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the Arizona Coyotes that sent John Scott to Montreal was a way for the NHL, or the Arizona's organization way, to make sure John Scott doesn't play in the All-Star game in Nashville.

In a segment on That's Hockey tonight with Gino Reda, Lebrun argued that since John Scott is now playing in the Atlantic division and has been assigned in the AHL to the St-John's Icecaps, his presence to the All-Star game is very unlikely.

It was reported earlier that the NHL and the Arizona Coyotes asked Scott to bow down from the All-Star game, but the rugged forward decided not to do so.

The NHL has now plenty of time to decide on a way to replace him as the Pacific division captain.

It will be interesting to see who and how his replacement will be chosen if the NHL decides that Scott is not eligible for the All-Star game.
