The head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers fires back at Cutter Gauthier's recent comments.

It will come as no surprise to anyone that Cutter Gauthier isn't exactly the most popular in the City of Brotherly Love after effectively forcing his way out of Philadelphia following the Flyers' decision to draft him 5th overall at the 2022 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

On Sunday, Gauthier and his Anaheim Ducks will welcome the Flyers to Anaheim where the two sides will clash in an early afternoon game, a game that Gauthier admitted this week he is very much looking forward to.

"Obviously with all that happened it's definitely been a game circled on my calendar and I'm super excited to play," said Gauthier when asked about his upcoming clash against the Flyers.

As you might expect members of the media were quick to ask the Flyers about the recent comments from Gauthier with head coach John Tortorella being among those asked. Tortorella however had a fiery response when informed of Gauthier's comments and made it clear following the first question that he didn't want to hear anything else about the Ducks forward leading up to the game itself.

"I don’t give a shit what he says," said Tortorella bluntly. "I’m not interested in answering any questions about Cutter Gauthier. I don’t wish anything bad on the kid, I’m not going to answer any questions on it."

While both Gauthier and Tortorella were relatively dismissive of the ongoing feud between the two sides there's no question that the fans will be eagerly anticipating today's game with that feud front and center in their minds. This rivalry is likely only just getting started and it will be interesting to see how players on both sides of the ice respond throughout the course of Saturday's game between the Ducks and Flyers.
