Vegas Golden Knights head coach John Tortorella was sure that his team had just sealed the deal in Game 2.
He was wrong and it cost him. Big time.
Tortorella challenged a 'no goal' call with just over five minutes remaining in Game 2 and lost out on the challenge. Sure, Vegas put one past Hurricanes netminder Frederik Andersen, but the officials ruled that the puck crossed the goal line after the play was blown dead.

So, because Tortorella lost his challenge the Hurricanes got themselves a powerplay.

The Hockey Gods shined down upon the Hurricanes, giving them a crucial powerplay goal to earn a 3-2 lead late in the 3rd period.
