John Tortorella goes full Tortorella on Thursday.

On a day where there isn't a ton going on around the National Hockey League, we would like to take a moment and say that we are thankful for Columbus Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella, and all the memorable moments he has brought us over the years.

On Thursday Tortorella was once again being Tortorella when a seemingly innocuous question about the "science" behind forward lines in the NHL prompted a hilarious and fiery response.

"It’s a bunch of bullshit," said Tortorella. "I get a kick out of us, as coaches … we talk about this, that and the other thing. ‘This is what I’m looking for.’ It’s a bunch of bullshit. We try things, and if it works, it works."

While Tortorella may not be everyone's cup of tea, one thing that everyone can appreciate from the coach is that you can always take what he says at face value, Tortorella is honest to a fault.

Torotorella himself may be perfectly fine with sticking to his methods and using the eye test to asses his line combinations, some other more analytically inclined coaches around the league may not agree with his assessment. Some may even take offense to the suggestion that the science behind their line combinations are nothing but bullshit.
