John Tortorella snaps at reporter ahead of Stanley Cup Final.

Vegas Golden Knights head coach John Tortorella has come in on very short notice and has had a tremendous run of success with his new team since taking over for Bruce Cassidy behind the bench in late March. Tortorella has gone 19-4-1 since taking over as head coach including a 12-4 run in the Stanley Cup playoffs, but if you thought that made him any less grumpy you would be sorely mistaken.

On Saturday, Tortorella snapped at a reporter during a brief media availability ahead of the Stanley Cup Final, completely shutting down the question before the reporter could even finish. The reporter was attempting to ask about Tortorella's history with the opposing head coach in this final, Rod Brind'Amour of the Carolina Hurricanes, but Tortorella was having none of it.

"No nostalgia stuff, nope," said Tortorella. "I've done nostalgia stuff, I'm talking hockey. I'm not gonna talk about the other team and I'm sure that ends your question. Ok?"

There may be good reason that Tortorella wishes to avoid the topic of any past playoff meetings between the two, as history does not favor the Golden Knights head coach in that regard. The two met all the way back in 2006 when Tortorella was coaching the Tampa Bay Lightning, with Brind'Amour and the Hurricanes defeating Tortorella and the Lightning 4-2 in that series on their way to a Stanley Cup championship. Brind'Amour was however a player at that time, so things will be very different this time around.
