Jonathan Huberdeau exposes issue, “might see a psychologist”
Flames press conference

On Wednesday night, forward Jonathan Huberdeau scores first game-winning goal with the Calgary Flames. He had been called out by pretty much anybody out there, including his own head coach Darryl Sutter, who believes that his refusal to shoot was impeding his progress and was costing the Flames.

Fortunately on Wednesday, he put it at the back of the net.

However, Huberdeau revealed on Thursday how he really has an issue with this. Per Salim Nadim Valji, Huberdeau admitted that he laughed that even when he shot his game-winning goal, he was still thinking to pass it and that he might see a psychologist.

The game prior to the win over the Kraken as the Flames dropped their recent matchup against the Los Angeles Kings in overtime, Sutter had called out Huberdeau for passing the puck on a key offensive opportunity rather than shooting.

Huberdeau had first responded by defending his reputation as a pass-first forward, though he finally proved on Wednesday night that he can score big goals.

Calgary has been waiting for Huberdeau to score points like he did last season with the Florida Panthers before the monster trade. That winning goal what Huberdeau and the Flames needed.

Even if that means he needs to see a psychologist to change his mentality.
