Jonathan Quick set to be traded again?!

Potential spin-offs emerge from last night’s blockbuster involving the goalie:

No one was more shocked than veteran goalie Jonathan Quick who was traded by the Los Angeles Kings late last night to the Columbus Blue Jackets as part of a deal for defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov and goaltender Joonas Korpisalo. The Kings are also sending a first-round pick to the Blue Jackets in the trade.

Quick was reportedly unhappy with the move, and I wonder now how he will feel that insiders are reporting that he could be traded once again ahead of Friday.

Both Frank Seravalli and Pierre LeBrun hint at the possibility that Quick could be flipped again before the deadline.

"Blue Jackets will try to quickly explore the market before Friday's deadline to see if there's interest on a playoff team for pending UFA Jonathan Quick. Which has has been communicated to the veteran goalie, and well, no doubt would be a desirable outcome for him," writes LeBrun.

Seravalli also wonders if the Blue Jackets could have a shot at Arizona Coyotes blue liner Jakob Chychrun now that the team holds assets/picks and could package them to take a shot at the coveted defenseman on the market. Though I can't imagine Quick wanting to be part of that deal if it materializes.

Quick is set to become a pending unrestricted free agent in the final season of a 10-year, $58 million contract with an AAV of $5.8 million. He might prefer to be moved again, to a contender, for another shot at the Stanley Cup before calling it quits.

Let's see what comes next for the veteran netminder...
