Jonathan Toews addresses his injury, gives an update on his status for tonight's season opener

Future Hockey Hall of Famer Jonathan Toews will play his first NHL game in 910 days this evening.

Toews announced to the media this morning that he'll suit up for the Winnipeg Jets in their home/season opener against the Dallas Stars.

Toews told reporters that the nerves haven't hit him quite yet, but that emotions will be high playing for his hometown team with his parents in attendance.

"I'm at the point where I want to stop talking about it, though. I just want to go play hockey."

It's been a long road back to the NHL for the former Chicago Blackhawks captain. Surely everyone in attendance will be rooting for a stellar performance this evening... well... everyone NOT in a green sweater.
