Jonathan Toews will play!

This is a fantastic sign! On Wednesday night, the Chicago Blackhawks are facing the Detroit Red Wings and captain Jonathan Toews will be in the lineup for the preseason opener.

On the last day of June, Jonathan Toews shared a video explained how missed the entire 2021 season due to what is being called chronic immune response syndrome. While there is no timetable for Toews’ return, his participation in tonight’s preseason opener is a great sign that he could be ready for the regular season.

Toews took part in five training camp sessions in six days and still feel energized to take part in tonight’s matchup against the Red Wings.

You have to admit that’s great news for the Blackhawks.

The Blackhawks open the regular season Oct. 13 at the Colorado Avalanche.

The three-time Stanley Cup champion had 18 goals and 60 points in 70 games during the 2019-20 season. In 943 career games, he has 345 goals and 470 assists.

Can’t wait to see how he looks tonight on the ice!
