Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Erik Cernak might not remember 2023 by the time he wakes up from this hit courtesy of Montreal Canadiens forward Josh Anderson.
Anderson absolutely destroyed Cernak on Sunday night as the Canadiens and Lightning clashed in a battle of two Atlantic Division rivals, but all hell broke loose early in the game's second period after the hit from Anderson.
Anderson caught Cernak staring at the puck behind the Lightning net and showed the 26 year old defenseman no mercy, hammering him with a punishing hit that left Cernak down and motionless on the ice.
Luke Glendening would come in and challenge Anderson following the hit which Anderson eagerly accepted, resulting in the two men briefly trading blows before falling to the ice themselves.
