The Ottawa Senators had a scary situation unfold on Saturday night during their game against the Arizona Coyotes.

Senators forward Josh Norris appeared to suffer a freak injury after taking a faceoff in his own end, one that appeared to be a non-contact injury. The situation initially looked much scarier than it turned out to be due to the fact that Norris collapsed to the ice immediately after the faceoff which seemed extremely concerning.

Thankfully, Norris would quickly rise to his feet and even skated off under his own power, alleviating the more serious concerns about his health in the process. In fact Norris looked like he was full of fire as he headed down the tunnel, back to the Ottawa Senators locker room, as the forward slammed his stick and even appeared to deliver a swift kick to something on the ground as well.

Norris has reason to be upset as well given that this now appears to be an injury to his left shoulder, a point of concern for Norris throughout his career. Norris previously had surgery on that shoulder all the way back in 2019 after suffering an injury at the World Junior Championship, and that injury would rear its ugly head again last season when Norris missed 15 games with a left shoulder injury. When a player suffers so many injuries to the same area it becomes an obvious cause for concern, and given the relative harmless nature of the face off that led to Norris' injury tonight, it's no doubt on everyone's mind.

Here's a look at how the injury occurred, as well as Norris' rampage after the fact:
