As you may have seen earlier tonight, Chicago Blackhawks Forward Jujhar Khaira skated with his head down and was hit by New York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba and went out like a light. As he fell onto the ice, his head hit the ice as well, and he laid there motionless.

He stayed without moving on the ice for several minutes as trainers and paramedics rushed to him, put him onto a stretcher to get him out safely and get the help he needs.

This is a tough hit to watch, here it is:

The Blackhawks provided an update on Khaira as the third period got underway, stating that Khaira ”suffered an upper body blow in the second period of tonight’s game. After initial evaluation on the ice he was taken by ambulance to Northwestern Hospital for further testing.”

Khaira signed with the Hawks as a free agent this summer after spending the past five seasons with the Edmonton Oilers. The 27-year-old was sidelined more than once in his career with concussion issues and we feel very nervous about this massive hit.

Get well soon Jujhar.
