Karlsson: “he tried to pitchfork me in the face”

Near the end of the second period, the Senators' defenseman Erik Karlsson was tangled up with Marc-Edouard Vlasic in the Sharks defensive end. Vlasic who was on top of Karlsson got back and, from how it looks like, attempted to spear the Sens' captain. Ottawa's bench exploded and Guy Boucher requested a penalty for such a nasty play, to no avail. Kyle Turris took the matter in his own hand and chased Vlasic down the ice.

"I'm down in the corner battling and i lose my stick. The play is gone and i'm reaching for it and [Vlasic] tries to pitchfork me in the face.[...] As far as i'm concerned that's a dangerous play. It's intentional. [...] I'm happy i didn't loose my cool or did something stupid. I'm lucky that he didn't hit me in a bad spot, 'cause that was hard." said Karlsson after the game.
