Zack Kassian has not only been a healthy scratch more often then he would like this season, the talk about him being traded has been almost non stop. It appears the situation Kassian finds himself in is starting to get a uncomfortable for the Canucks Winger, and it's hard to blame him given the circumstances. Kassian spoke to TSN's 1040 radio and made it clear he wasn't happy.
“It’s a little frustrating,” he said, “but I’m at the point now where if it happens, it happens. It means another team wants you, maybe you get a little more opportunity. “But I’m a Vancouver Canuck. I love it here. I especially love the guys here. So I’m not thinking too much about that stuff.”
It's hard not to feel for Kassian, he clearly wants to be a part of the team, but after being healthy scratch again against the Flyers the trade talk flared up once again. General Manager Jim Benning also joined TSN 1040 and admitted there had been discussion about the possibility of moving Kassian.
“Teams have phoned to inquire about him,” said Benning. “Zack’s a young player. He’s a power-forward style player. We’ll listen to what teams say, but he’s not unlike a lot of our other players that teams phone and inquire about. “If something comes up where we think it’s a good deal for us, then we’ll do it if we make the organization better.”
The Canucks won't be home again until the end of the month, if you're at the game and Kassian is still part of the team, cheer a little louder than usual for him.
